Conor and Tristin
Conor and Tristin were matched over a year ago, and watching their journey grow has been truly inspiring. Starting as a school-based match, Conor visited Tristin once a week for an hour. During that time, they got to know each other’s likes and dislikes while engaging in various indoor and outdoor activities. Through these simple moments, they quickly formed a strong connection.

When Tristin transferred to a new school, Conor requested to transition their match to a community-based one. Fast forward to today, and their bond has only deepened—they’re more than just a match; they’re best friends and brothers at heart. Tristin describes Conor as someone he genuinely trusts because “he always does what he says he will do.”

The two spend almost every Friday afternoon playing pickup basketball and dinner together. Tristin feels incredibly valued by Conor, who regularly introduces him to his friends. While most community-based matches meet twice a month for a few hours, Conor and Tristin genuinely enjoy spending time together every week!

Conor shares that their relationship has been a two-way street, with both learning from each other along the way. Beyond their match, Conor has been a passionate advocate for Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBSCP), encouraging his peers at High Point University to get involved. While the college experience has been rewarding, Conor says that bonding with Tristin has been truly life-changing.
