What We Do

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Piedmont builds life‑changing mentoring relationships between caring adults and local youth. Each match is thoughtfully created, professionally supported, and designed to help young people grow in confidence, competence, and caring.

We’re more than matchmakers — we walk alongside every Big, Little, and family to ensure the relationship thrives. Our staff provides training, guidance, and ongoing support throughout the entire match.

Our Story

We’ve been defending and developing youth potential in the Central Piedmont since 1979. As part of a national movement founded over a century ago, our work is rooted in a simple belief: one caring adult can change a child’s life.

Today, Big Brothers Big Sisters operates in all 50 states and continues to evolve, but the heart of the mission remains the same — helping young people see what’s possible and giving them the support to get there.
