Big Brother Shannon a Greensboro Firefighter is matched with Nasir a 6th grader at Johnson Street Elementary School in High Point. Shannon decided to volunteer after hearing about the need for male role models at an United Way Rally. During the last year Shannon has spent time at his Little`s school and talked to his Little Brother`s Teachers about what areas he could help the Little develop in. By the end of last school year the Little demonstrated improved behaviors and academic performance. They read the book Pinocchio and discuss the importance of always telling the truth. They spend a lot of time playing sports and talking. They even attended an NBA Basketball game together. Shannon talks to the little`s mother about the different ways he can help his Little develop the skills he needs to be successful in life. They are excited to enter their second year as Little Brother and Big Brother.
